The Better by Nature 'mother herbal remedies uniquely combine an extensive selection of essential oils for internal consumption. Their therapeutic efficiency has been recognised for millennia. In the Western world they have been passed by the use of modern drugs and they are mainly used topically for aromatherapy.
The Better by Nature essential oils are sourced from over 100 farmers of medicinal plants throughout the world. These farmers are committed to the wise and prudent treatment of the soil and have demonstrated a deep respect for nature. Many do the farm work as their father and grandfather did, often using traditional stainless steel or copper stills which provide the optimum conditions for the full aroma of the essential oils and the maintenance of the active ingredients.
During the search for the purest oils ever-increasing degradation of the soil has been witnessed due to the misuse of natural resources. This is specifically due to the clear-cutting of plants, over-harvesting, the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides and fungicides, and mono-cultural farming. Unfortunately few farmers are aware of the dramatic consequences of these widespread practices. Our commitment is therefore to promote organic farming and to work with producers who know how to handle nature in a loving and caring way. New farmers' attention is always drawn to the far-reaching positive consequences of responsible ecological farming.

The effectiveness of essential oils depends on their purity. Using chemicals in medicinal plant farming goes against the very purpose of committing oneself to nature and health.
The process of producing pure organic essential oils requires more time and involves greater risks; therefore it is usually practised by a few small family enterprises. As a result, organic essential oils are more costly than those produced by conventional farming methods.
The essential oils in Better by Nature 'mother formula' herbal remedies are 100% pure and unadulterated and are guaranteed free from harmful and artificial substances. No thinning or chemical additives are used. They are not decoloured, deterpenated, peroxidised, or reconstituted. Our essential oils are certified by INAC, one of the most respected European certification organisations.
In order to guarantee purity each oil is defined according to:

2. Country of origin
3. Botanical name
4. Part of the plant used
5. Major biochemical compounds
There are some countries where it is simply not possible to obtain certified organic oils because appropriate monitoring organisations do not exist. In these cases the Foundation uses 'wild grown' and 'traditional' oils which, although not certified, to all intents and purposes may be considered organic.
