Chinese & Western Herbs
Sourcing and Quality
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has been successfully practised since the ancient Chinese masters originally devised their herbal remedies.
Better by Nature 'mother formula' herbal remedies only use Chinese herbs from one of the most renowned sources that has been providing herbs to the Western world for nearly 30 years, with a laboratory operation and quality control in London, 150,000 sq ft operation in California, plus Hong Kong and Beijing.
Blending
Herbs are blended together to allow the complex interaction which makes the formulas so effective. Great care is taken to preserve the synergy of the resulting Remedy as it is concentrated through a painstaking distillation. Other manufacturers simply extract the essence from each herb into a combined powder with a reduced synergistic benefit, or press herbs into pills/capsules including inert plant fibres with little of the active oils making their potency and medicinal value questionable.
Low Temperature Processing
Great care is taken to preserve all of the delicate oils of the herbs. Depending on the herb(s), the oils are evaporated in a water or water-alcohol base in sealed vacuum chambers allowing precise temperature control ensuring none of the oils are lost. Less costly and hotter methods are common industry practice which tend to denature and burn off the essential oils.
Quality Control
Each batch is scientifically tested in-house before, during and after processing to ensure all the active ingredients are present. Tests are also carried out to ensure all ingredients meet all the Western regulatory guidelines regarding heavy metals and contain no drugs. Finally, batches are regularly sent out for control testing in third party laboratories as an independent test of purity.
Good Manufacturing Practice
The factory in China is certified by the Therapeutic Goods Administration of the Australian Government as having Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and hygiene guidelines even more strict than in the USA. Only a handful of factories in the world producing Chinese patented herbal remedies have this certification. The manufacturer founded in 1929, is named after a benevolent Buddha, famous for his philosophy of healing, and is ranked in the top 1% of Chinese herbal manufacturers.
