The brainchild of Michael Riley and Jane Fletcher, the Riley Fletcher Foundation was originally founded in 1997 with the aim of developing efficacious natural herbal remedies, affordable and available to all, helping to achieve our vision of 'Every child born healthy all over the world'. With the first trial underway the Foundation is now raising funds to support further clinical trials ranging from common ailments to more serious conditions.

Jane has over 20 years experience as a complementary health practitioner, qualified in aromatherapy, reflexology, Bach flower remedies, and specialist aspects of homeopathy. She has also pioneered the efficacious effects of taking essential oils internally, known as aromatology. Jane was also a courageous 'guinea pig' for the earliest herbal formulas. She suffered from ME/chronic fatigue, Candida and hormonal problems and each time made a remarkable recovery after taking our herbal remedies. Michael has a strong business and commercial background, with a career building Rileys into a major advertising and HR group and developing the uk's first indoor tennis centre. As a 'Victor Ludorum' athletics champion at school and a keen sportsman with a natural interest in health, Michael developed an interest in the health properties of Aloe Vera with Forever Living - the Aloe Vera company - leading to a strong interest in natural approaches to health and wellbeing. 12 years of study and research resulted in the Foundation's original patented synergistic herbal remedies, combining Aloe Vera, Chinese and Western herbs, pure essential oils, spices, probiotics and nutrition. Michael and Jane were finalists two years running in the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority, Virginia, US 'Strongest Link Technology' and 'UK to US Touchdown Biotechnology' competitions.

Now available as, simple spray under the tongue, energy signatures of the original herbal remedies under the Better by Nature brand, we are pleased to feature these leading natural products alongside other natural complementary approaches that fit our philosophy.  
 

Our History

Synergistic Herbaceuticals

The Better by Nature range of products have been developed over a 12 year period, combining the thinking of Western and Eastern traditional cultures and beliefs into a One World concept. 

The first phase of development centred on the study of using topical application of essential oils, as in aromatherapy, and was followed by the use of oils used internally, as in aromatology. Research then extended to include the interaction of aloe vera, Chinese and Western herbs  and  spices,
and nutrition.

Organic ingredients were sourced for their purity from all over the world, and unique, natural, plant based herbal formulas were developed, capitalising on the synergistic effects of the various ingredients - synergy is the phenomenon whereby the combined effect of two or more things is greater than the sum of their separate effects - and synergistic effects of nutritional ingredients are well documented. UK and US patents were subsequently granted covering the Foundation's work.

Each of these herbal remedies included core nutritional elements, supplemented by herbs, vitamins, minerals and oils, used traditionally in Western and Eastern cultures for treating various conditions. The herbal formulas covered the needs of detoxing, to cleanse and balance the gut, conditioning to address particular health and wellbeing concerns, and ongoing nutrition to support the body. The herbal remedies offered a convenient means of taking a broad range of traditional supplements without a plethora of pills - a drink taken once each day through the course of treatment - and were prepared to order and supplied to our clients following an extensive personal consultation upon completion of a comprehensive health questionnaire.  Clients were introduced by personal referral.

The development of medicines from plants is not a new phenomenon. Aspirin is a well-known example. Indeed, it is estimated that a quarter of the active components of currently prescribed medicines were first identified in plants.
